Arlington is where Snohomish County gets rural without losing the infrastructure. The Stillaguamish River runs through the edge of town. The Cascade foothills are visible from most streets. The farmers market is real. The neighbors wave. If you have spent time in suburban Seattle and feel like the distance between people has grown past comfortable, Arlington resets that. It's a genuine small town in a county that is mostly suburbs, and the buyers who end up here typically say they didn't know they needed it until they found it.
Home prices in Arlington range from $450K to $700K, making it the second most affordable city in the county after Marysville. Arlington School District serves the community with strong vocational programs and an active athletics culture. The city's proximity to the Cascade Recreation Area, the Mountain Loop Highway, and the Stillaguamish watershed makes it a base camp for outdoor recreation that outdoor buyers pay twice as much for in Leavenworth or Winthrop. Paine Field is 30 minutes south, giving Boeing employees a strong commute option.
Arlington has also developed a quiet reputation among pilots: Arlington Municipal Airport hosts the annual Northwest EAA Fly-In, one of the larger general aviation events in the region, and the fly-in community has its own neighborhood character around the airport. For buyers who want space, community, outdoor access, and a real sense of place without the price premium that comes with proximity to Seattle, Arlington is one of the most honest answers in the county.
